UK Consumer Sentiment Continues Recovery
5 June 2023
The Index of Consumer sentiment is our quarterly insight into the minds of UK consumers.
It tells us how confident they're feeling about their own finances, and also their optimism about the economy as a whole.
The detailed report with full analysis will be published soon, but here is the topline infographic:
UK consumer sentiment contines to recover from its record low in Q4 2022.
There are still big variations in consumer confidence across customer types, and we'll put a lot more detail in the forthcoming full report.
The key headline is that the increase is mainly driven by consumers' confidence in the future outlook for the economy.
One of the strengths of the ICS methodology is that the overall index is made up of questions that reflect both the current situation and consumers's views of the future.
In Q2 2023 consumers are sending a strong signal that, while times are tough, they expect things to improve.
Let us know if you have any questions, and look out for the full findings.
