TLF Research Privacy Policy Statement

Your privacy is important to TLF Research. This privacy statement provides information about the personal information that we collect and the ways in which we use that personal information.
This Privacy Policy applies to both individuals and companies who are potential or actual customers, purchasers, and delegates of our online content and learning, our training courses and programmes, our free and chargeable events, webinars, podcasts and any other registered-user content we provide, along with any other interactions (e.g. customer enquiries) you may have with TLF Research.
What information do we collect?
TLF Research may receive data about organisations, industries, website visitors, marketing campaigns and other matters related to our business from our partners, affiliates or others. Data is only supplied by organisations who comply with data protection law.
We collect personal information from you through the use of enquiry forms and each time you e-mail us your details, or when you speak to us over the telephone. We may receive and store other information when submitted to our websites or if you participate in an event, a course, request support, interact with our social media accounts or otherwise communicate with TLF Research.
In particular, TLF Research will collect and hold details of:
Your name
Your job title
Your job role
Your email address and contact number
Your postal address
The name of the organisation you work for
Your dietary requirements (if you’re attending one of our events)
We also collect information automatically about your visit to our site, including your IP address. This information, is collected via the use of cookies and session file information, and may be used to identify your organisation. How do we use the information we collect?
We use personal information collected via TLF Research and TLF Learning to provide you with a more personalised service and keep you updated of our events and news, in accordance with the legitimate interests of our business and/or in order to perform the contract that we enter into with you to supply you with our products and services. Our legitimate interests involve conducting and managing our business, allowing us to generate new business and inviting clients and prospects to purchase our services and communicating with clients and prospects in order to make them aware of the services we can provide. We also have an interest in processing your information to gain feedback on our services, including conducting research.
We process customer and client data and use direct marketing as part of this legitimate interest. It’s necessary for us to use a variety of direct marketing channels and messages to ensure our contacts are kept informed, and we make sure the messages we send are targeted and relevant. Any direct marketing we undertake complies with e-privacy rules on consent.

To keep you up to date with the latest, relevant content we have published
To administer any course, programme or event delegate bookings you have bought from us
To keep you up to date with and invite you to any of our latest, relevant events, training programmes, webinars or podcasts we are producing

Who do we share your information with?
We may use approved third parties to help us supply the services we provide. This includes companies who host our website and help us send out marketing messages. This may involve transferring your data to data centres in the US or Canada and written agreements are in place to ensure appropriate safeguards to protect your personal data and data subject rights. If you choose to purchase from us, you will be redirected to a separate site (Shopify) who will securely handle your card payment and who do not share any of your card details with us.
We use Thinkific to administer our online learning courses and as part of this process the names and email addresses of learners are added to their site. As you progress through your course(s) Thinkific may collect information about how you interact with the course, including but not limited to, your progress through the course, quiz scores, survey results, discussion or forum contributions and other student activities. As part of the service Thinkific may transfer your personal information to other regions including Canada and the United States, and a written agreement is in place between TLF Research and Thinkific to ensure appropriate safeguards to protect your personal data and data subject rights.
How long do we keep your information for?
We keep your contact information unless you ask us to remove it, in this case retaining only the information we need to ensure that we respect your wishes and do not contact you again.
Logs of IP addresses are retained for 90 days.

Your right to object
You have the right to opt out of our direct marketing at any point, and we will deal with your request right away. You can unsubscribe from our emails automatically by clicking on the email link or emailing uk@leadershipfactor.com. Data Protection
TLF Research is a trading name of The Leadership Factor Ltd which is a registered company with registration number 3145836. We are the Data Controller for any personal information collected from this site.
We are also registered with Information Commissioner’s Office and comply with all relevant data protection legislation.
Data protection legislation provides individuals with a number of rights in relation to their personal data. You have the right to request access to the personal information that we hold about you, to ask for personal information to be corrected if you believe it to be incorrect, to ask for your personal information to be erased and to ask us to stop processing your personal information. Use of cookies
A cookie consists of information sent by a web server to a web browser, which is subsequently stored by the web browser. Each time the web browser requests a page from the web server, this information is relayed, enabling the web server to identify and track the web browser.
We use both session cookies and persistent cookies on tlfresearch.com. Session cookies track your route on the web site, whereas persistent cookies enables our web site to recognise you upon your visit. Session cookies are automatically deleted upon the closing of your browser, whereas persistent cookies will remain stored until deleted, or until they reach a specified expiry date.
We rely on Google Analytics to study the use of tlfresearch.com by visitors. Google Analytics generates statistical information about the use of the web site via cookies, which are stored on users’ computers. The generated information is used to create reports for analysis, which are stored by Google. Web browsers do allow the refusal of cookies. However, this will negatively influence the usability of web sites, including tlfresearch.com, and will prevent functionality. At the top of the Explorer window, click Tools and then click Internet Options.
Select the Privacy tab and then click the Advanced button.
Check the Override automatic cookie handling.
Select Block on First-party Cookies, Third-party Cookies and un-check Always allow session cookies.

Click the Wrench Icon on the browser toolbar.
Select Settings and then click Show Advanced Settings.
In the Privacy section, click the Content settings button.
Click Block sites from setting any data.
Click OK to close the options window.
Safari
Click the Settings Icon on the browser toolbar.
Select Preferences and then click the Security icon.
Check Never under Accept cookies.
Click the cross to close the options window.
Use of IP address
Through the use of specialist software, we may be able to use your IP address to identify your organisation, although not you as an individual.
Use of session files
We use session files, along with cookies, to log your browsing patterns and so identify the areas of the site which have been of interest to you, this helps us to understand how people use our website.
TSM Benchmarking Reports
By registering for a TSM Benchmarking report, you are agreeing to share your TSM data with TLF Research.
You will submit your data via a secure online survey managed in-house.
TLF Research take data security very seriously and your data will not be shared with any third parties. We will provide T&Cs and offer reassurances that data will always be anonymised and landlords' names will never be attributed to their scores without their written consent.
Although no personal data is shared within the report, the information is commercially sensitive and we recommend having a Mutual NDA in place before sharing your data. We can provide a MNDA, alternatively we would be willing to sign yours.
